Creative industries in an economic downturn
This month's Feature article, a press release from the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) published early this year, shows that the creative industry has been steadily growing over the past decade, contributing to economic growth, employment and trade in developed countries. Since the article's release in January 2008, the current global situation has shown an immense downturn on the world's economies, but what does this mean for the creative industry?

In your opinion, will those in the creative industry sector fare better in this global economic downturn than those in other sectors?
As a creative and educated class, this sector will not be as affected as others.
Perhaps, but with creativity and proper planning, the impact can be diminished.
All sectors will feel the weight of the downturn, as spending is low.
